Time marches on and summer is melting into fall as the leaves are falling and some are changing color. The evenings are chilly and the early morning hours around sun-up are downright frigid most mornings. We have been puttering around doing what we feel needs done as we await the steel roofing’s arrival by truck from Bradco in Albany. We still have a couple of purlings to nail in place yet, but that will only take about a half hour to complete.
The other day we put the new light on the front of the barn…and boy, does it look great! It give just the right amount of lighting for the front of the barn, using a 9W LED bulb that give the equivalent of a 90w flood light, generating a yearly cost of a dollar and change. (Yeah right…and guaranteed for 10 years too!!!) Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha…Anyway…we bit on all that crap and bought it for $12.00…
Yesterday, we trimmed the plum tree which has been hanging down over half the drive way and the birch tree on the other side which was obstructing the other half of the driveway. After dragging away all the limbs we cut off, I had to admit that it made the trees and the driveway look much, much better! Look below and see for yourself....
New barn light lights the area nicely...
This is the trimmed plum tree...
This is the birch tree across the driveway from the plum tree....
The new tractor shed is in the background...
And finally...we are posting a picture of a letter Vick received from our neighbor after she brought her niece and her kids down to the farm to go on a tour with Vick. The kids were very impressed... judging from their letter to Vick, What do you think?
I have been working on a web site for a lady in Long Island and it has been a challenge to say the least. I do as much as I can, but she had an existing site and I am having trouble getting into her name servers to update and point them to her new URL site with me. We’ll get it ironed out, but it’s a lot of crap and wasted time until we resolve the issue and get going. Oh well, Mom said there would be days like this.
