Thurs. April 8th... Yesterday Was Sweet Vicki's Day...We Tried To Do It All......
Yesterday we were up extremely early and on the road by 6:15 AM...stopping only at Feura Bush momentarily, to pick up a roll and butter from Stewart's...then tripping onward to Elsmere, where Vick had a root canal performed...Something everyone should do on their birthday. Anyway, after that we returned home, jumped into the truck and went for animal food at the two Agway's. That completed, we parked the truck at home and jumped into the car, to go fishing at a nice spot we found along the Catskill, where we could sit and fish. It was Vick's desire to fish on her birthday.... catch em' or not... for she was hankerin' for a little fishin' time on the creek. We left there after awhile and visited the ponds on the golf course at Sunny Hill. Looking at the pictures, you can see the beauty we beheld, as we lazily awaited a fish's bite. We caught nothing... had fun and worked up a dandy appetite which we quelled at Russo's Ristoranté in Cairo. Vick relished his famous linguini and white clam sauce, while I enjoyed the Shrimp Parmesan. We basically had the entire restaurant to ourselves and Eddy Russo, the owner...came out and talked to us as usual, wanting to catch up on the mountain news and old friends.... Always a special treat and bring Vick's positively favorite stop of all time, I knew Russo's would probably be the birthday celebration meal.
Returning home, we gathered eggs and did the feeding, closed all the animals inside for the night and we retired early, so Vicki could paint for a change. She has been in a slight lull for a while...Burnout...I call it. You know...where you just can't concentrate, get into it or come up with material you want? We all experience it. I told her to simply take a break form it and spin yarn until the urge returns. It always does.
Today looks like a really good day to work around the farm a little. We need to go to Lowe's for material and a new carpet cleaning machine. Our old one is about as shot as it can be.... no doubt from the grueling workout the dogs give it... It's about time to retire the old one anyway... Vick said it's real old! Maybe we'll jump in the truck and I'll pick up some gift shop stuff, five sheets of T-111 for the porch ceiling and the new carpet cleaner. There is still a lot of cleaning to be done too, so I won't be bored today anyway, even if we don't go to Lowe's.
I think Luke was trying to suck up to me! How did he know I was part Indian??
He does look cute though......
Yikes....caught in the act!
Looking downstream, it's pretty....
BUT....Absolutely not as BEAUTIFUL as looking upstream!!!
Such Regal elegancy portrayed in God's splendor!
The water looks so inviting, but it's freezing... This is still mountain snow melt...
My very bestest and beautifulest friend in the whole wide world.....
The Birthday Girl....
Sweet Vicki, my wife......
