Is a Blueberry just a Pea that is holding its breath?? It has become apparent here that many things can appear to be one way, but are very different when you look at them up close or from a different angle. It could appear to some that country folks are slow, lazy uneducated individuals, but when you get to know them as friends you see them in a different light. Many are slow, hard working , uneducated individuals while others are half fast , hardworking , very intelligent , artistic types that are sooooo good natured and open and honest and friendly that it as amazing as a summer lightning storm to watch.
Not everything is at it appears! People from the city are not all slick, fast talking, selfish jerks that would rather treat life like a Saturday Afternoon of Sports TV clicking thru the remote over and over and over. Some City dwellers appreciate the country life style, that are experienced for brief weekends and fleeting days spent up here where the trees are many and the concrete is few.
Bill and Loraine came to visit last night, minus their son Andrew, who had to stay home due to College and Sports commitments. It could be said that they came as Geeks bearing gifts aplenty. And while history might tell you of ulterior motives, it can be assured that there are none, except to extol happiness and pleasure for those they care about. They are just happy to be able to spend time away from their fast paced, hectic lifestyle in East Meadow. So if "Life is a Play" then where is the audience? Or is the play one of magic, illusion and misdirection?
This morning we all slept in late after an evening of gabbing and giggling. We all went to Sunny Jim's Eatery Extraordinaire in Coxsackie where the salivation begins while you are parking your SUV. But it is when you look with your other senses that you see the truth behind the smoke and mirrors. We ate vibrant vittles made with farm fresh Cluckin' A eggs. The pancakes were as big as hubcaps and the coffee is as aromatic as blossoms in spring. This family owed and run new restaurant has five star fixings and one star pricing. And the service is better than those fancy, schmancy places too. I guarantee that you'll be hooked, once you try it.
So now we are off for a day filled with antiquing, sight seeing and more. And all the while as we are out and about I will remember that Not everything is as it appears, not even the author of today's blog, possibly! SHAZAM!!
