Sunday evening, February 06, 2011... Super Bowl Sunday Almost Over and Gone......

All eyes are on their TV’s this evening for sure...All but ours here on the farm. We could actually care less. We’re not sports oriented by any means. We don’t go to any games, nor do we watch any on TV. When I feel like a real rebel, I watch a little NASCAR or Professional Boxing, but not to often. The last race I watched was the Daytona 500, with our departed friend Harvey Jones in March of 2010. It was a fun day of watching the race, as Vick and Joan played with the Angora bunnies and sheared them. Later we had pizza and coke. Several days later, Harvey was gone. We treasure the memory of Harvey that day and continue to visit with Joan at their home to do pastel painting occasionally. Likewise, Joan comes here to be with the farm animals and do stained glass with Vick.
In any event, we are not Super Bowl addicts like most of America. Today Dawna came and painted with Vick as I performed maintenance on Vick’s computer to allow her to view PDF and other such files which would not display any longer.
Now we are dwelling in the crystal cathedral. We are surrounded by glaze ice and you have to wear Arctic Cleats to be able to commute between house and barn. Once at the barn, I fire up the ol’ John Deere garden tractor and use it. With the cleated chains, it cruises right along with little trouble, which is turning. If you don’t slow down to turn, it just slides in the direction you were going.
The pellet stove just ran out of pellets and shut down. CRAP...now I have to fill it and purge the auger. That seems like it takes forever and you have to hand feed the fire pot until it gets going again. I hate when I get my head up my butt doing other things and forget to dump pellets in the hopper. They were sitting there in the ash can, ready to be poured into the hopper when needed. Well better go restart the stupid thing.
Okay.....I’m back and the fire is going again. It only took twenty minutes this time.
That’s almost a record time for getting it going again. I’ll be like the guy on Christmas Story... you remember? The Dad...Keeping track of how long it took him to change a flat tire with another near flat baldy....
Well by now the game is in the fourth and final Quarter with the Packers leading the Steelers by three at 28 – 25. JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW.....
