Mon. March 14th... It’s Cold All Over Again...But We Don’t Even Care...Because...

Yeah, Old man winter raised his head high and blew a gut full of winter winds across us again this morning, splattering us with chills and snow flurries. The water on the ground is sure to freeze again, but we don’t really care, because Linda came yesterday and waded the slurry in the chicken coop and got it shoveled out and dried up inside again. The chickens are surely grateful for that and the ducks are back in seventh heaven again on their side. The alpacas and sheep are in better shape, because Dawna cleaned their stalls and replaced the wood chips in there on Saturday. I removed all the fallen snow from the front of the stall entry door where it had slid from the roof all winter long. It was about four feet deep there and the animals had to follow a narrow path along the wall to get out. Now it is all opened up and they can make entry under the roof anywhere they want to. I wanted to get it cleaned away from the front, because as soon as I can get to start, I plan to enlarge their stall areas and move the overshot roof out another six feet. That will enlarge their stalls to make room for the one, possibly two, Llamas we are going to get. We will get Max from Isabelle, our friend and this Thursday, we are going to see Wanderer and another alpaca. We will also take alpacas from Isabelle when they move to Florida if she does not get rid of them elsewhere, because we want them to have a good home and be where she can visit them if she comes back north to visit. Perhaps, Ralph and Isabelle will come to visit from time to time, and they can stay with us while they’re here, giving them the freedom to go visit other friends and have free lodging while they are here. We would enjoy that if they would consider it. Mable and Carly would be free to stay here with Ralph and Isabelle, because the other five dogs of the Cluckin’ “A” Critter Farm enjoy company too. Winston...the yellow of Linda, or friend, stays here while she works and Kat, Judy’s pup stays sometimes too and everyone gets along great, so Mabel and Carly would fit right in.
Vick hung the curtains in the gift shop yesterday and today we’ll install the wood veneer on the side of the cupboard under the checkout counter and then we’ll get the computer system and printer set up. The tower and printer will go inside the cupboard and the monitor and keyboard will be on top of the counter. We’ll be able to play mood music through the computer, eliminating the need for a radio, which will be nice. We can play our flute, seashore and classical music all day long in there, making it a tranquil enjoyable place to visit and shop.
Soon Ken Dudley of Tip Top Furniture will come over to see the gift shop in person. He wants to become more involved in sponsoring the shop, which will be nice. He wants to display a painting for sale in their store to draw attention to our cause and get people to come to our shop. Below are a few pictures of the latest headway made. I’ll post more after today’s work. Stay tuned!!!!!
