The Shooting of Max is an adventure in itself…

We stopped in at Tractor Supply in Hudson yesterday and picked up a bottle of Penicillin, which we needed to treat the bump on the side of Max’s face. We want to get a jump on the infection and swelling before calling a vet in if it doesn’t get any better. We bought a really neat all steel birdbath at Tractor Supply yesterday for a mere $34.99 at the same time. Vick has been looking for one for some time now, but they were either plastic or extremely expensive. This one is great for the money.

Since I’ve got the injured nerve in my finger and can’t do much, Vick spread lime in the pasture. That will make for much greener and lush grass a little later…something the alpacas will surely love.

I guess we will trek to Lowe’s or Home Depot for two sections of decorative fencing for the rear deck, along with plywood to build Vick’s brainchild deck enhancement garden around the rock falls we presently have. When it is done, it should really dress up the rear deck and we can enjoy it morning, noon and night. We also have to find some soccer sized stone to complete the projected plan, but when finished it will be really nice. I guess before we take off for Lowe’s or Home Depot, I’ll go out and help Vick give Max his shot….EXCITING, RIGHT!!!Below is a picture of Max and his bumps with a yellow circle around them. The one of Luke is him making a face when we gave Max his shot this evening. He must remember getting one too. These clowns are all TOO FUNNY!
These bumps cold be a tooth issue or something else....

We cleaned out the small garden pond this fore noon and readied everything at the water hoses to start them up for the summer, but when we turned the water on, it squirted everywhere at the four hose splitter. It had frozen and broke the top off…even though it was removed from the spigot. When we got back from Lowe’s this evening, we put the new four hose splitter on and got the water running to the pond to fill it to the level for running the pump. I installed the pump and we were off and running. The gold fish and Koi fish probably felt like a human getting a blood transfusion when the fresh oxygenated water entered the pond. The pond is now running and cleaning itself.
AND now it's tomorrow, which equates to today now! Sometimes when we are finished for the day, we are simply ready to drop and rest until we fall asleep. My days start at six AM and run constantly until nine or ten and we get there before you know it in the summertime when it is still daylight at nine o’clock. Our old butts are beat after 15 to 16 hour days…much more than when we were kids a few years ago! Below are a few pictures from this morning...It was 24° at 6:00 AM whe I turned the dogs loose.....Brrrrr
Our front porch...great for reading and coffee sippin'....
