Monday, October 13th… Calling for rain…like my knee told me last night!!!

I complained last evening about my knees aching unusually bad and asked Vick if they were calling for rain today, so she pulled her trusty iPhone out and checked the latest weather. She then stated that, no rain was forecast for today. Well, now I see where they are, in fact, calling for rain. You can’t fool mother nature…….nor can you fool these tattered and worn knees of mine.

We are supposed to go to the mountain today to spec out a heating job so we can pick up the materials needed to do the job, so I guess we will take care of the critters first, and go get that out of the way. We then have two days to get the materials. Thursday, we can go install the furnace and related parts. We’ll get some current foliage pictures for you on the mountain where the leaves are definitely at peak.

Gone are the days of youthful summer loafing, for school is in……
Gone are days of lounging around the refreshing swimming pool……
Gone are the evenings lingering on till nine O’clock before sunset…
Gone are the chores of summer… mowing… weeding… trimming……
For the leaves are turning… and falling… and the days shorten…
Soon shall they carry the winds of winter… as snowflakes gather…
The world will enter a tomb of freezing to await the next spring…
So enjoy today…what is left is colorful and delightful to behold…
As the season is joyous and full of laughter and historic beauty…
Yes, holidays are approaching rapidly…whispering Thanksgiving…
And that beginning ushers in the remaining holidays of the year..
Lest we all die a little more as we withstand yet another winter.
Life comes and goes as the leaves of the giant oak tree fall………..
Some too early… some will go together… and some shall linger on…
But as the leaves of summer dance in the breeze, enjoying life….
So too, must we enjoy our summer…for our harvest time cometh.

Enjoy Life! Go to the harvest festivals and Oktoberfest activities, because the holidays have started with autumn. The winter is coming rapidly on the shirttail of those holidays and it can’t be avoided… enjoy them and prepare for the inevitable.
