Thurs. Eve, Nov. 20th… There must be one in every crowd!

We’re just back from the HPCANYS 4th annual Musical Comedy and Live Auction held at the Marriott Hotel in Albany, where we represented Nature’s Friend’s of Hospice, Inc. as fundraisers for the hospice program of Columbia - Greene County. We enjoyed a nice Harvest Buffet and an hour long comedy/singing program by Laura Roth. There was also a section of the program that recognized Jon Katz and his dog Izzy, for their hospice work.

Excuse me, but In my opinion, Jon Katz is probably one of the most arrogant, self centered, rude people I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet. Vick took a couple of copies of her water colors of his dogs along for him and when she gave them to him, he said, sell them I have too much stuff already….. They’re nice…… give them to someone here… sell them.
Nice huh? Then when Laura Roth took the stage after him, she announced that she was so very honored to share the stage with him and she hoped he would enjoy her performance. He left…. After her sweet, heartfelt announcement of being honored to perform with him, he leaves after her first number. How Very, VERY RUDE!
When we got home, I read his blog and he made it sound like the entire purpose of the evening was to honor him rather than acknowledge that it was an annual fundraising dinner with a silent and live auction and a dinner show, along with a section of the event where they honored him for this years hospice work. After reading his blog, it kind of makes it look like he is feeding off of the hospice program. The pictures he takes and the stories he writes about the patients seem to really perpetuate his book sales. What an ass. He started as a hospice volunteer a year and a half ago and it seems since highlighting unfortunate hospice patients his book sales are soaring. Sounds like a plan to me? A plan only a selfish person would commit on such a wonderful program. Shame on you Jon Katz! I’m sorry I know you.
