Oh, what we'd give right now.....
Good Morning from Snowville on the Pupskill......the snowiest place we know of... (right now) AND BOUND TO GET EVEN SNOWIER TODAY!!!!!!!
Again, as we mentioned yesterday, it hasn't stopped snowing since Monday! And... It is still snowing...and is supposed to snow all day long... clear into next Monday!
What a pain in the BUT it is extremely beautiful and seldom does one get to enjoy such beauty. At the 1800' level on Vly Mountain, where Vick's brother and parents live, there is five feet of snow on the ground. (Nothing melts very quickly at that altitude) That snow will remain until July or August probably....who knows!
Nothing gets plowed open real quick up there either, so we hope Rich and family get out as soon as possible and have enough food and water to go the distance.
I opened our driveway completely, but yesterday's snowfall, socked her in tight all over again. Now I have to go out and tractor it open all over again. It's getting pretty hard to move the snow, with the six foot piles of snow already there. I will have to keep lofting the piles back further to accommodate today's plowings. After I get ours opened up, I will tread down the road again to finish Charlie's driveway like a good friend. He has done a lot for Vick and me, so I enjoy helping him out this time.
Our neighbors just walked here for eggs...They told me that the high voltage electric wires are down on the ground again, just like the day before yesterday. They have no power right now until the electric truck comes and shuts us all off again to repair it again. Looks like we can look forward to that today too.
Well, a bite of French toast, some coffee and I'll be off to open paths to the animals, so I can feed and water them, then do the plowing and head to Charlie's place.
