As Forrest Gump would say....”Life is like a box of chocolates”...But Winter life kind of resembles chocolate.....Ahhh, more like POOP, especially when you’re tired of it and ready for spring! It started snowing last evening around midnight and hasn’t stopped yet. Originally the weather predictor jerks thought we would get a mix of rain and sleet or freezing rain, but we only had about an hour of that, just after sunrise....and then it went right back into full unadulterated snow! We have at the present a total of six or more inches of the new, wet, heavy wet crap and it is supposed to rain....errr, snow all day long, changing over to snow this evening again. AGAIN!!! Looks like there’s no changing over if it snows all day long! We’ll definitely be up to our “but- tocks” Forrest!

I’ve been sitting here putting unwanted and un-needed things on eBay. I gave up after my computer started running so slow it almost takes letters away when you type, so I’ll wait until later to put them on. There is an antique box of Richter’s Eagle blocks (which are stone building blocks in a wooden box) from 1900, a Boyd’s Glass, Special collectors...6 pc. “Purple Valor” Carnival Glass train set and an unsearched lot of 21 packs of old baseball cards from 1986 to 1991. We also have a bunch of old medicine bottles and other stuff to put up. It allows us to get rid of stuff we no longer collect or save, gives us a little spending money and makes the stuff available to others. You certainly don’t make enough to make it worthwhile doing if you’ve ever thought of becoming wealthy by eBaying!

We ordered the lumber yesterday for the walls in the gift shop. Not that crappy paneling or fake wall board, but the real deal! Full ship lapped, white pine boards which we’ll nail on...one by one...keeping the building quaint and full of original quality we decided on. We feel that it will enhance the high end art pieces which will be displayed, allowing their beauty to shine for prospective buyers who will purchase them, knowing that their money is going to our very worthwhile Hospice program. Their kind donation, through the purchase of the donated art will be forwarded to the Columbia-Greene chapter of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State, which promotes the availability and accessibility of quality hospice and palliative care for all persons in New York State confronted with life-limiting illness.

Looks like our mission for today will be to work on the farm web site, loading Vick’s artwork and making it easily available for purchase with purchase buttons which will allow shopping cart capability. I also want to highlight the pieces by allowing people to enlarge them before actually purchasing them, so they can see the picture as best we can show it. We will copy proof the pictures so they cannot be illegally downloaded or printed.

All this...we will do, as we watch the snow pile up....ruining our hopes of a Spring like day by thrusting us into this nasty but beautiful winter scenario as a rude reminder that Spring has not arrived just yet.
