The day is ugly. Rainy mist is hanging everywhere and the snow is melting... Has been melting...All night long and going faster now at almost 50° this morning. The center section of the barn is flooded due to the little drainage ditch being plugged with ice. Hopefully it will thaw and the water will withdraw from the barn entry, where it is three inches deep and the ducks are swimming, quacking happily. This summer, swearing off all other projects....I vow to install a collector box and grating under the overshot and run drainage pipe all the way to the pond area. When summer comes, I’ll have waded all the water I will ever wade in the barn and surrounding area. I am going to upgrade the drainage to eliminate all future water problems anywhere around the barn! The Hospice gift shop is shining like a bright red apple on the teacher’s desk! Vick and I worked on it all yesterday afternoon and into the evening, completing ¾ of it. Today, we will finish the rest and work on getting ready for the floor and counter area. We have the counter top, but need a cabinet to place it on so we can use it for bag, paper and supply storage.
