Monday, January 23rd... First It’s Snow...Then It’s Rain...Make Up Your Mind...

Yesterday it was twelve to fifteen degrees all day long. Today it is thirty and raining. Of course we all know what rain does when it hits the ground in thirty degree weather! It freezes...making everything treacherous for all; man and beast alike. The wind is howling and cold air is blowing in through the kitty door, making my knees cold right now, but what can we do about that? Nuttin! If we close off the little door, we’ll have kitty doo-doo or pee on the floor. Better to shiver and be a little cold from time to time.
Below are pictures of my work shop area in the basement where I build the fiber swifts I’m going to sell on eBay as soon as I get a box container fitted to it and can get a finished shipping weight, so I know what it will cost to ship. I believe I will offer free shipping anyway, so it won’t be long before you’ll see them offered.
The starting bid will be $155.00 if I give free shipping...a bargain for sure, if you’ve ever looked at the $250 to $350 price tag of all the other vertical swifts ever seen on eBay. We are also going to offer our spinning tools on our webpage too. We will offer a swift, the fiber combs and possibly drop spindles, if I can find a design I like with readily available parts. These are a planned venture which we have been developing for quite some time and we plan to sell them in our farm store when we build it this spring. It’s going to be an old fashioned country store offering eggs, frozen chickens, turkeys, honey, cheeses, maple syrup and maple candy, along with shelf jars of old fashioned penny candy. We will offer our fibers from the farm animals in raw, roving, bats and yarn form...and will sell the fiber tools along with a few spinning wheels. Vick plans to offer a large selection of wool, alpaca and angora yarns and products, making this the greatest country store around. I have visions of looking for old country store furniture and glass show cases to add that old fashioned charm lost to the years. This is gonna be fun! I really enjoy making the swifts and combs......and building the store is going to be a real blast too. Come on spring!
In the mean time, we’ll make more and more fiber tools, stock up on yarns, products and line up contacts for wheels, so we’re ready in the spring.
Anyway...as we said before...below is the swift I’ve made for sale, showing the adjustment arms extended, retracted and as it will be shipped. The other pictures are my work shop area where we design and build them. If you would like to order one, go to: http://www.cluckinacritterfarm.com/cluckin%20a%20critter%20farm_021.htm
