Good morning from the Cluckin A Farm…
Yesterday we made our rounds into Vermont and several other places as we turned our Toyota Rav4 in for a new model. We got almost the same color, except for a metallic sparkle paint which is pretty. We also moved from the standard model, up to the LE model, giving us more options and a moon roof. The heated leather seats are comfy and make long rides more pleasurable. We did this trade with little out of pocket money since there is a 0% interest fee right now and they were looking to move cars with select customers. We have been doing business with Carbone of Vermont for several years now and Jason got us our desired car by dealing with us over the phone until yesterday when we picked it up. We’re set for the next three years now!
The front end is a little nicer on the 2012 model....
We departed Carbone with 6 miles on the odometer...
Prior to making the deal on the car, we stopped at Maplebrook Farms, where we picked up six cartons of cheese product for the farm. We got Cheddar bites, Burrata, Feta block and crumble, smoked Mozzarella and Ricotta in all. When we departed there and made the switch to our new car, we headed to a feed mill to pick up a bag full of dog biscuits which the dogs always look forward to.
We were sad that Perry’s orchard, our favorite orchard that supplied us with apples was closed. This is the height of the apple season and we couldn’t understand why he would be closed, but upon reaching the main road, noticed his entire sign was gone. We still do not know why he closed………
On up the road, we stopped at Deluge Degigns, a stained glass shop in Cambridge. We enjoy stopping to see Pam, the owner and always stock up on needed glass and supplies when we pass by there. Vick picked up some chain for a glass project she is doing and off we went again. On up route 22, we dined at the Burger Den…a favorite spot for lunch and then on to Greenwich to pick up Maple syrup. From there we traveled in comfort, all the way home. That trip filled our entire day. When we got home, it was just dark enough to put the animals away for the evening and a friend showed up to pick up some of the cheese and a dozen eggs. He returned with a loaf of hot bread his wife just took out of the oven for us to enjoy with cheese, garlic and olive oil……Yummy…Thanks Anthony!!
Today at eleven is my first out-patient physical therapy session in Greenville. I hope after getting there, they are pleased with my progress and will cut this crap short and allow me to get on the treadmill in bad weather or continue my half hour daily walks outside which I’ve been doing (except yesterday). I also have an elliptical runner in the basement with the treadmill and Bowflex, if they just give me the exercises they want me to do and how long to do them daily.
While I was out taking the pictures of the car, I noticed Gladys' clan is in for a visit again this morning. Gladys is on the left foreground and the clan is at the point in the right background... They continue to visit her due to her injured wing. If only we could entice her to stay in the barn at night......
Gladys (left) by post...the group background right, on point...
