The morning started out cold…below zero, but rapidly climbed to eight above zero. It is now 12° and I don’t think we will get much above the 19° that they predict. (If we even make that)
This morning, I am going to do an exposé highlighting Vick’s exquisite stained glass creations.
Everything that she produces is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation of art that only comes from her. She uses raw materials such as glass, lead solder, fine gauge copper wire, copper tape and sometime, lead came, which she uses for an outer border of the artwork. She works in the basement glass studio and does her copper taping and fine wire work at the kitchen table.

The oval piece I’m highlighting today is by far…one of the best for demonstrates her skills of creating the most intricate pieces in fine leading and fabricating. She uses fine copper wire to create trees, shrubbery, cattails and lead solder alone to make the leaves on the trees and the cattail heads.
I am constantly in awe of her accomplishments with her mastery of the stained glass items, her watercolor paintings, her spinning of raw fiber into yarns and needle felting of lifelike animals from Alpaca and sheep’s fiber.

Vicki is positively an accomplished Artesian beyond refute in any of her endeavors…and only becomes more proficient daily.
Look below at the pictures of the art glass world in which she so easily creates masterpieces sought after by all who know her work.
How beautiful and intricate....

Everything you see is copper wire and lead solder....

Working at the dining room table....
Vick's glass table in the basement studio....
The solder tools and glass grinding table...
Layout table....
Glass storage rack...and small pieces bin....
Racks of various colored glass panes....
Vick has as much stored glass as most suppliers do....
Glass is stored according to color and patterns....
She says, "You have to have what you need when you need it..."
Except for glass, this is all she uses to create her masterpieces...
Scrap pieces she saves to remelt and use again...
Look how Vick twists the wire to creat a tree with limbs...I'm always intrigued with her solder leaves...a very difficult task to perform even for a professional leader.
